May 2nd I will be participating in the Vermont Reading Partner’s Spring Craft Fair at Manchester Elementary Middle School in Manchester, VT . This fair features alot of wonderful Vermont artists selling their beautiful wares just in time for Mother’s Day! In addition to my usual selection of torn paper collage and felted accessories, I  am working on a handful of “Hannah’s Heart” angels to bring to this event.

The following week, I will be shipping out my first order of potted mushrooms and cacti to a new consignor, Birdfolk Collective in Winooski, VT. I’m very excited to be part of this hip new handmade retail shop. The store is opening on May 1st and will feature handmade gifts, clothing, jewelry and home accessories from talented artists throughout New England.

And finally, I am going to be very busy cleaning and prepping my home for my first Open Studio as part of the Vermont Open Studio Weekend on May 23rd& 24th.  I’ll be setting up my dining room as a gallery/shop where visitors can view my felted creations and collage work and will let folks take a peak at the small studio space I have upstairs.   This state wide event attracts folk from all over Vermont, New England, and beyond. I hope to be able to introduce alot more folks to my work as they visit the state for Memorial Day Weekend. Be sure to check out the online map. There are lots of great artists in the Rutland area that are participating this year!

Hannah’s Heart – Limited Edition Ornament Fundraiser

16659390039_163290d1b1_kMy newest niece, Hannah Elizabeth, was born on February 20th with a congenital heart defect that requires surgery. A GoFundMe campaign was started by a family friend to help with the expenses associated with her surgery.

I am making a special limited edition ornament to help raise money for the campaign. These sweet little merino wool  angels are aproximately 6-7 inches tall. They have a cinnamon (reddish brown) side braid, a sparkly (pipecleaner) halo and a big pink heart.

I will be selling this style of angel only until June 2015 in my etsy shop, and at my 16657768668_f8557a650d_otwo remaining spring shows, the VRP Craft Show in Manchester, VT on May 2nd and at the Open Studio Weekend on May 23 & 24 at my home in Rutland, VT. $15 dollars of each $20 (plus shipping) sale will go directly to

And please keep my brother, his wife and their new baby girl in your thoughts and prayers!

Tourist Season

Living in Vermont, I have discover that there is a wonderful time of year called “Tourist Season”. This is when the beautiful leaves start turning those glorious shades of yellow, orange and red. There are non stop reports on the radio and tv about where to see the best colors. And the roads are full of cars with out of state plates, driving slowly so they can snap pictures of the mountains out of the passenger seat window.

Tourists are here to get a taste of Vermont, our apples, maple syrup and locally grown foods. And they are here to buy a piece of Vermont to bring home with them. Fall is a great time to be selling things made from wool, as well as artwork of colorful fall foliage. Its a great time to participate in shows like the Harvest Festival in Bristol, VT, the Apple Festival in Springfield, VT and the CVU Craft Fair in Hinesburg, VT.   And I am enjoying the chance to share my piece of Vermont with tourists and locals alike at these wonderful fall shows and the galleries that carry my work!
