Tourist Season

Living in Vermont, I have discover that there is a wonderful time of year called “Tourist Season”. This is when the beautiful leaves start turning those glorious shades of yellow, orange and red. There are non stop reports on the radio and tv about where to see the best colors. And the roads are full of cars with out of state plates, driving slowly so they can snap pictures of the mountains out of the passenger seat window.

Tourists are here to get a taste of Vermont, our apples, maple syrup and locally grown foods. And they are here to buy a piece of Vermont to bring home with them. Fall is a great time to be selling things made from wool, as well as artwork of colorful fall foliage. Its a great time to participate in shows like the Harvest Festival in Bristol, VT, the Apple Festival in Springfield, VT and the CVU Craft Fair in Hinesburg, VT.   And I am enjoying the chance to share my piece of Vermont with tourists and locals alike at these wonderful fall shows and the galleries that carry my work!
